Every residential roof we install is backed by the Apex Lifetime Workmanship Warranty. If our installation causes your roof to fail to perform as intended, we fix it. No cost for the labour and materials related to that defect.

What the warranty covers
The Apex Lifetime Workmanship Warranty covers defects in how our crew installed your roofing system. That's the part we control, so it's the part we stand behind.
If a workmanship defect causes the roofing system to fail to perform as intended, Apex repairs the defect at no cost to you for the labour and materials related to it.
The warranty is issued as a certificate with your name, your property address and a certificate number. Keep it with your house papers.
What "lifetime" means
Tied to ownership
"Lifetime" means for as long as the original purchaser named on the certificate owns and occupies the property. It isn't a fixed number of years.
Starts at completion
Coverage starts on the date of substantial completion. That's after our documented final inspection (photographed and recorded) and after the contract is paid in full.
Transfers once
Selling your home? The warranty can be transferred one time to the next owner. Send us written notice within 30 days of the property transfer.
The lifetime term applies to our workmanship. It doesn't extend the service life of the roofing materials themselves.
Workmanship vs. material warranties
Workmanship is how we installed it. Material is the manufacturer's product. They're two separate warranties.
Material warranties come from the manufacturer, have their own terms, and pass through to you. A defect in the product itself, like a shingle that fails because of how it was made, falls under the manufacturer's warranty, not ours.
What's not covered
The warranty covers our workmanship. It does not cover:
- Manufacturer defects in materials (covered by the manufacturer's warranty)
- Acts of nature: hail, wind, ice, snow load, lightning and storms. Storm damage is usually an insurance matter. See insurance claim help.
- Foot traffic, falling objects, or work by third parties after completion
- Pre-existing structural deficiencies
- Inadequate attic ventilation or insulation not installed by Apex
- Ice damming, condensation or moisture caused by building conditions outside Apex's scope of work
- Cosmetic weathering, fading, granule loss and natural shade variation
- Lack of reasonable maintenance, or alterations by others
- Indirect, incidental or consequential damages

Commercial projects: different warranty
The lifetime warranty on this page is for residential roofs. For commercial metal roofing done under an Apex commercial contract, workmanship is warranted for five (5) years from Substantial Performance. Your commercial proposal and contract set out the full terms. See Commercial Roofing.
Keep your roof in good shape with APEX+
Every new Apex roof includes a free first year of APEX+: a spring inspection and a written photo condition report. APEX+ doesn't change your workmanship or manufacturer warranties. It's just an easy way to catch small issues early and keep a record of how your roof is doing.

What does "lifetime" mean?

Does the warranty transfer if I sell?
Yes, once. Send Apex written notice within 30 days of the property transfer and the warranty moves to the new owner.
Is hail damage covered?
No. Hail, wind and other acts of nature aren't workmanship defects. That's usually a home insurance matter, and we can help with the insurance claim process.
When does coverage start?
On the date of substantial completion, after our documented final inspection and full payment of the contract.
Does this apply to commercial roofs?
No. Commercial metal roofing workmanship under an Apex commercial contract is warranted for five years from Substantial Performance. The terms are in your commercial contract.
